Biography:
2009-2010 marks Wathier's fifth professional season. Heading into the season, Wathier had scored 22 goals and added 17 assists for 39 points in 164 AHL games (all with the Iowa Stars and Iowa Chops). In 2008-09, Wathier played in 77 games for the AHL’s Iowa Chops, scoring six goals and totaling 16 points. Wathier placed third on the team with 127 penalty minutes. He missed 60 games during the 2007-08 season due to a shoulder injury, but served as an alternate captain for the club and was honored as Iowa¹s American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year for his outstanding contributions to the Des Moines community. In 2006-07, Wathier played in 17 games with Idaho (ECHL). The left wing dished out nine assists and totaled 13 points in 17 regular season games with the Steelheads. Wathier helped Idaho win the 2007 Kelly Cup, making seven playoff appearances and adding two assists (1g-1a). The Ontario native played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) prior to turning pro. Wathier spent time in Hull and Gatineau, compiling 34 goals and 57 assists for 91 points in 253 games.
