Biography:
Entered his third professional season in 2009-10. Drafted by the Phoenix Coyote’s in the eighth round, #240 overall in 2004. Signed by the Dallas Stars on February 2nd, 2007. In 2008-09, Gagnon played in 61 games for the Grand Rapids Griffins, scoring eight goals and dishing out 11 assists for 19 points. The forward also made ten Calder Cup Playoff appearances for the Griffins, scoring a goal and adding two assists for three points. Gagnon split his rookie season between Iowa (AHL) and Idaho (ECHL) in 2007-08. In 25 games with the Stars, the British Columbia native dished out one assist and added eight penalty minutes. Gagnon tallied seven goals and amassed 21 points in 22 games with the Steelheads. From 2001-07, Gagnon played in the WHL for Seattle, scoring 123 goals and adding 121 assists for 244 points in 318 games with the Thunderbirds. Gagnon scored 18 goals and added 12 assists in 45 post-season games with Seattle. In his final WHL season, Gagnon led the team with 42 goals and 80 points in 59 games played. During the 2006-07 season, Gagnon was twice named the Boston Pizza WHL Player of the Week and was also named the Husky WHL Player of the Month for December. At the completion of the regular season, Gagnon was named to the WHL West First All-Star Team and was named the winner of the Brad Hornung Trophy (WHL's Most Sportsmanlike player of the year). He also was a finalist for the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy (WHL's MVP). INTERNATIONAL CAREER: On April 1, 2004, Gagnon was named to the Canadian roster for the 2004 IIHF World U18 Championships in Minsk, Belarus. Canada fell to the Czech Republic in the bronze medal game 3-2. Gagnon dished out three assists in seven games.
