Entered his seventh full professional season in 2009-10. Dallas signed Peters to a one-year, two-way contract on July 6th, 2009. In 2008-09, Peters made his NHL debut with the Calgary Flames, registering two hits in 5:08 of ice time in a 3-0 Calgary win in New York against the Rangers. Peters scored his first NHL goal on March 3rd, a 6-3 Calgary win in Ottawa. The forward made his NHL playoff debut on April 20th, 2009, a 4-2 Calgary win at home over Chicago. His most prolific season at the AHL level came in 2006-07 with Omaha, when he posted 17 goals and 16 assists for 33 points in 79 games, all AHL career bests. He signed as a free agent by Calgary, August 5, 2005. Peters skated in 330 games for his hometown Saskatoon Blades in the Western Hockey League from 1997-2003, recording 218 points (111 goals, 107 assists) and 542 penalty minutes. In 2002-03, he led Saskatoon in assists (44), and was second in goals (31) and points (75) in his final year of junior hockey.
