Biography:
Entered his third full professional season in 2009-10. Drafted by the Washington Capitals in the ninth round, #263 overall in 2004. In 2008-09, Morin won the Kelly Cup with South Carolina, tying for the team lead with 18 playoff assists and finishing second on the team in playoff scoring with 22 points. Morin led the club in the regular season, setting up 62 goals and totaling 88 points in 71 regular season games. His 62 assists led the ECHL and his 88 points finished third overall in the league. Morin had two assists for the American Conference in the 2009 ECHL All-Star game. 2009 All ECHL First Team selection. 2009 ECHL Sportsmanship Award recipient. In 2007-08, Morin spent most of his rookie season with South Carolina (ECHL), finishing third in the league in scoring with 84 points (34G+50A). He scored a goal for the American Conference in the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game. He also played four games with Hershey (AHL). Morin ranked second among ECHL rookies in scoring and tied for seventh in the league (fourth among rookies) in goals and sixth in the league (third among rookies) in assists. He shared the ECHL lead with six SHGs and tied for third in the league with seven GWGs. He had a hat trick and two assists on Oct. 31 at Columbia. He made his AHL debut on Nov. 7 at Norfolk. He had a season-high nine-game point-scoring streak from Jan. 11 – Jan. 29 (8+8). He led the ECHL with 10 playoff goals in 20 games. He finished by leading the team and ranking eighth in the league with 17 playoff points. In 2001-02, Morin was honored as the 2001-2002 Metro Player of the Year by the Minneapolis Star Tribune for Osseo High School during his senior season.
