Biography: Entered his second full professional season in 2009-10. In 2008-09, Ludwig split his rookie season between the AHL’s Manitoba Moose and the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads. In 16 games with Manitoba, Ludwig was held scoreless with 18 penalty minutes. In 35 games with Idaho, the defender scored two goals and totaled ten points. The rear guard was scoreless in four Kelly Cup playoff games with the Steelheads. NCAA Notes: Prior to turning pro, Ludwig spent four seasons with the Providence Friars (NCAA). He finished his college career with two goals and 13 assists in 115 NCAA games. Upon completing his NCAA eligibility in 2008, Ludwig joined the Stars AHL affiliate in Iowa, dishing out three assists in seven games. Ludwig spent two seasons in Frisco, Texas with the NAHL’s Texas Tornado. He played in a total of 109 games, scoring nine goals and handing out 30 assists for 39 points.
