Biography:
Entered his second full professional season in 2009-10. Last season, Climie split his first full professional season in the NHL, AHL and ECHL. He was called up to Dallas on an emergency basis from the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads on April 4, 2009. Climie made 22 saves in his NHL debut, a 5-4 overtime win at home over St. Louis the same day. He started two more games in April, finishing with a 2-1-0 record, a 2.92 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. Climie spent the majority of the season in Idaho, posting a 27-12-1 record, a 2.30 goals against average, a .915 save percentage and four shutouts. He ranked fourth best in the ECHL in wins and goals against average. He also tied for third in shutouts and ranked eighth in save percentage. The Steelheads netminder was winless in four Kelly Cup Playoff starts despite posting a 2.41 goals against average and a .924 save percentage. Climie also made five Calder Cup playoff starts in Houston in 2009. He posted a 1-1 record with a .945 save percentage and notched a 1.88 goals against average. In 2007-08 Climie turned pro at the end of his college eligibility, going 1-4-1 with a 3.99 GAA and a .872 save percentage in six AHL games with Iowa. NCAA Notes: The Alberta native played four years at Bemidji State. In his senior season, he posted a 14-8-3 record with five shutouts, a 2.16 GAA and a .913 save percentage as a senior at Bemidji State (CHA). He finished his four-year career ranked first on the school’s all-time shutouts list with12 and second in goals-against average (2.45) and save percentage (.908). Climie earned First-Team All-CHA honors as a junior and was selected to the Second-Team All-CHA squad as a senior.
