Scott White
General ManagerScott White Texas Stars General Manager The Dallas Stars promoted Scott White in November of 2008, appointing him the Texas Stars first-ever General Manager. The 41-year old was hired by Dallas in 2005 as the Director of Hockey Operations for the Iowa Stars (AHL) and acted as Dallas Director of Minor League Hockey Operations when Dallas and Iowa ended their affiliation following the 2007-08 season. White spent 2008-09 preparing for the Texas Stars Inaugural Season in 2009-10. Whites role with the Texas Stars will be very similar to his role in Iowa. He is responsible for all of the day-to-day hockey operation activities, including recruiting, scouting and assisting with trades and roster moves with the Dallas Stars General Manager, Joe Nieuwendyk. Prior to joining the Stars in 2005, White was the General Manager/Head Coach of the Columbia Inferno from 2001-05. In four seasons as a coach, White posted a 165-87-36 record (0.635), guiding the Inferno to the playoffs in all four seasons, including a trip the 2003 Kelly Cup Finals. He also was an Assistant Coach with Greensboro (ECHL) in 2000-01. From 1994-1999, White was an Assistant Coach at his alma-matter, Michigan Tech. White played professionally from 1989-1994, suiting up 290 times in the AHL, IHL and ECHL. Scott and his wife, Kathy have four children: Emily, Katie, William and Madelyn.
