Cedar Park, TX – The Texas Stars defeated the Chicago Wolves 4-1 on Saturday night at Cedar Park Center. Goalie Brent Krahn stopped 28 of 29 Chicago shots, improving to 5-1-0-0 on the year. Left wing Landon Wilson scored twice and the Stars powered past Chicago with three goals in a 2:33 span late in the first period. Center Perttu Lindgren and Colton Sceviour each registered multi-point games, as Texas improved to 4-1-0-1 at home this season. With the win, Texas takes sole possession of first place in the West Division. Chicago goalie Manny Legace suffered the loss with 14 saves. Texas will host Houston at 5:00 pm at Cedar Park Center on Sunday.

Texas roared out of the gates in the opening period with three unanswered goals. The Stars started the scoring at 14:47, center Perttu Lindgren attempted to center the puck, but a Chicago defender knocked the pass down. The puck rolled back to Lindgren, who fired in his third goal of the season for a 1-0 Texas lead. Just over a minute later, the Stars struck again as center Aaron Gagnon carried the puck deep into the Wolves zone. Gagnon played the puck to the front of the Chicago net, where left wing Francis Wathier scored his third goal of the season at 15:54, giving Texas a 2-0 lead. Texas would make it 3-0 1:26 later, Colton Sceviour tipped the puck to Landon Wilson in front of the Chicago net. Wilson scored his first goal of the season at 17:20.

Texas expanded the lead to 4-0 at 12:37 of the second period. Lindgren worked the puck from the right-wing corner to Landon Wilson in the slot. Wilson blasted a one-timer past Chicago goalie Manny Legace for his second goal of the night and a 4-0 Texas lead.

Chicago broke their silence 5:58 into the third period, winger Anthony Stewart scored off of a rebound in front of the Texas net, trimming the Stars lead to 4-1.

The Texas Stars will have its first Autograph Night on Sunday, November 1st when they take on the Houston Aeros at 5:00 pm. The first 2,000 fans will receive a team poster. The Stars will host the Manitoba Moose on Friday, November 6th at 7:30 pm and on Saturday, November 7th at 7:00 pm. The first 2,000 fans to the game on November 6th receive a Texas Stars rally towel and may purchase $2.00 domestic drafts. On Saturday November 7th, the Stars salute the armed forces with Military Night. The first 2,000 fans receive a Texas Stars draw-string bag and the Cedar Park Center will provide $1.00 hot dogs.
