TEXAS STARS OPEN THE SEASON WITH A 3-0 WIN IN SAN ANTONIO
Stars Host Opening Night with the Rampage This Saturday



San Antonio, TX – The Texas Stars (1-0-0-0, 2 points) defeated the San Antonio Rampage (1-1-0-0, 2 points) 3-0 on Sunday in front of 3,441 fans at the AT&T Center. Texas goalie Brent Krahn (1-0-0) stopped all 26 San Antonio shots to preserve the shutout. Stars forward Scott McCulloch provided the game-winning goal with 5:09 to go in the third period, breaking a scoreless tie that last 55:51. Texas center Travis Morin scored two goals, as the Stars opened the season with a road victory. Former Texas goalie, Matt Climie (1-1-0) made 38 saves in the defeat for San Antonio. The Stars return home for Opening Night with the Rampage at 7:00 pm on Saturday at Cedar Park Center.



After two scoreless periods, Stars forward Scott McCulloch broke the drought, scoring at 15:51 of the third period, pushing Texas in front 1-0. The Stars added to the lead when McCulloch set up Travis Morin for the second goal of the night at 18:26. Morin capped off the scoring with an empty-net goal at 19:48 for the 3-0 final.



As part of the Opening Night festivities on Saturday, October 16th, Cedar Park Center will host the Bud Light / 101X tailgate party from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on the southeast lawn outside of the building. Fans may purchase $3.00 12 oz Bud Light drafts. The Texas Stars Ice Girls will be on hand along with the Bud Girls. Bud Light will also provide interactive games for all fans, while 101X supplies the music for the tailgate party.



Texas will return home for the first regular season home game on Saturday, October 16th at 7:00 pm against San Antonio. The first 5,000 fans receive a Texas Stars 2010 Western Conference Championship mini banner. Also, the State Farm Family Four Pack is available for every Saturday home game at Cedar Park Center. Fans may purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for $44.00. The Stars will also host the Peoria Rivermen on Sunday, October 17th at 5:00 pm at Cedar Park Center.
