Cedar Park, TX – The Texas Stars and Border Media Group announced on Thursday a broadcast agreement for the 2010-11 American Hockey League season.

“The inaugural year of the Texas Stars was an absolute blast on air and in the arena for Central Texans,” said Sports Radio Director Erin Hogan. “We are thrilled to be partnering with them again this year and look forward to many fun events together, both at the arena and in the community. Count on 104.9 The Horn to be the voice of the fan for Central Texas hockey fans this season.”

The entire 80-game schedule will be heard on one of Border Media Group’s ESPN radio affiliates, composed of 104.9 The Horn and ESPN 1530 AM. The schedule includes 53 games broadcast on 104.9 The Horn, Austin’s only FM sports talk station. All other broadcasts will be on ESPN 1530 AM. Fisher called the Stars inaugural season, including the exciting run to the Calder Cup Finals in the spring of 2010. He is entering his 11th season in professional hockey and has called over 800 games over that span.

Not only will Border Media Group carry all the broadcasts, hockey fans will be able to tune to 104.9 The Horn every Wednesday at 3:45 pm for “On the Ice with the Texas Stars”, presented by Toyota. Once a week, a Texas Stars personality (players, GM, coaches or front office staff) will join Chip Brown and Sean Adams for a weekly segment on their show “The Bottom Line”.
