TEXAS BEATS SAN ANTONIO 5-2
Texas Hosts Oklahoma City at 7:30 pm on Tuesday

Cedar Park, TX – The Texas Stars (12-8-0-0, 24 points) defeated the San Antonio Rampage (15-5-1-0, 31 points) 5-2 in front of 5,961 fans on Saturday night at Cedar Park Center. Stars forwards Greg Rallo and Francis Wathier each scored and added an assists as Texas snapped San Antonio’s seven-game winning streak. Defenseman Brad Lukowich also set up two goals as Texas improved to 8-5-0-0 at home this season. Texas forwards Raymond Sawada, Fabian Brunnstrom and Sean Backman also scored as the Stars improved to 3-0-0-0 against the West Division leaders this season. Texas goalie Richard Bachman (7-3-0) stopped 19 of 21 shots for the win. San Antonio goalie Matt Climie (9-4-0) stopped 27 of 31 shots for the loss. The Stars host the Oklahoma City Barons on Tuesday at 7:30 pm at Cedar Park Center.

Texas jumped out to an early lead 24 seconds into the first period with a goal by right wing Raymond Sawada. Forwards Colton Sceviour and Mathieu Tousignant both provided assists on the play, giving the Stars a 1-0 lead. Texas scored again with 1:39 left in the first after Sean Backman redirected a shot from the point past Matt Climie. Defensemen Brad Lukowich and Phillip Larsen both helped the Stars expand their lead to 2-0 at the end of the first.

San Antonio tallied its first goal of the night on the power play with a shot from right wing Mikkel Boedker at 7:46. Center Andrew Ebbett and defenseman Garrett Stafford helped to cut the lead to 2-1. The Stars responded with a power-play goal by Francis Wathier at 10:17. Lukowich and Greg Rallo set up the goal, pushing Texas to a 3-1 lead at the end of 40 minutes of play.

Rampage right wing and former Texas Star, Mathieu Beaudoin notched a third-period power-play goal at 11:41. Forwards Viktor Tikhonov and Bracken Kearns assisted on the goal to bring the score to 3-2. With 1:06 remaining in regulation, Texas right wing Greg Rallo scored a power-play goal to extend the lead 4-2 with help from Francis Wathier. Texas left wing Fabian Brunnstrom added an empty-net goal with an assist from Dan Spang for the 5-2 Texas win.

The Stars will face the Oklahoma City Barons on Tuesday, November 30th at 7:30 pm at Cedar Park Center. Fans may bring any H-E-B store brand non-perishable food product to receive a $5 discount off their ticket price. The Stars continue their seven-game home stand to face the San Antonio Rampage Friday, December 3rd at 7:30 pm. Every Friday, fans may purchase $3.00 domestic 12 oz drafts, $2.00 regular sodas and $1.00 hot dogs. Also, the first 2,500 fans will receive a Texas Stars fleece blanket presented by Toyota. The Stars will then host the Houston Aeros Saturday, December 4th at 7:00 pm. Every Saturday, fans may purchase the State Farm Family Four Pack, 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 sodas for $44.00. The first 2,500 fans will also have a chance to receive a Texas Stars scarf presented by Sweet Leaf Tea.
