Stars Wrap Up Regular Season With 1-0 Loss At San Antonio
Texas to Face Milwaukee in the Opening Round of the Calder Cup Playoffs

San Antonio, TX – The Texas Stars (41-29-4-6, 92 points) were defeated by the San Antonio Rampage (40-33-4-3, 87 points) 2-1 on Sunday night in front of 9,909 fans at the AT&T Center. San Antonio goalie Joe Fallon (3-7-0) stopped all 27 Texas shots to preserve the victory in the season finale for both teams. Rampage forward Viktor Tikhonov scored at 6:06 of the first period and San Antonio held on to close out the regular season with a victory. Texas goalie Tyler Beskorowany (7-8-1) stopped 27 of 28 shots in the one-goal loss. Texas will open up the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs in Milwaukee on Thursday night at 7:00 pm.

The Rampage took a 1-0 lead at 6:06 of the first period after Viktor Tikhonov scored the game’s opening goal. Forward Ned Lukacevic and Nick Ross each had an assist on Tikhonov’s 10th goal of the year. Tikhonov rifled a shot from the high-slot that slipped through traffic and past Texas goalie Tyler Beskorowany for the first lead of the game.
