STARS WIN THIRD STRAIGHT, BEAT WOLVES 4-3
Texas to Host Pink in the Rink on Saturday at 7:00 PM



Rosemont, IL – The Texas Stars (6-2-0-0, 12 points) defeated the Chicago Wolves (4-3-1-0, 9 points) 4-3 on Thursday night in front of 3,718 fans at the Allstate Arena. Stars forward Fabian Brunnstrom buried a slapshot 1:08 into the third period for the game-winning tally and Texas hung on for its third straight win. Texas goalie Richard Bachman (2-0-0) stopped 40 of 43 Chicago shots, including all 14 in the third period to preserve the victory. Stars rookie forward Tristan King scored a goal and added an assist as Texas improved to 3-0-0-0 on the road this year. Center Mathieu Tousignant and defenseman Maxime Fortunus also picked up goals in the victory. Chicago goalie Edward Pasquale (4-2-0) made 22 saves in the defeat. The Stars will return home to face Houston on Saturday at 7:00 pm at Cedar Park Center.



After a scoreless first period, both teams scored three times in the second period for a combined six goals. Texas opened the scoring at 1:59 when Mathieu Tousignant blasted a one-timer past Chicago goalie Edward Pasquale. Ondrej Roman set up Tousignant’s first goal of the year for the 1-0 lead. The Wolves answered back with a power-play goal at 4:28 by Andre Deveaux to tie the game 1-1. The Wolves forward redirected a shot from the left point by defenseman Mike Siklenka. The Stars pushed back in front after Tristan King poked in a rebound at 8:29 for his second goal of the season, giving Texas a 2-1 lead. The Wolves scored their second power-play goal of the night at 10:52, tying the game 2-2. Center Darren Haydar slipped a rebound past Texas goalie Richard Bachman for his third goal of the season. The Stars regained the lead at 14:09 with a power-play goal by Maxime Fortunus. The Stars defenseman scored his second goal of the year off a rebound in the Chicago crease for the 3-2 Texas lead. The Wolves tied the game 3-3 before the period ended. Forward Riley Holzapfel snapped a wrist shot past Bachman for his second goal of the year at 16:54.



In the third period, Texas took advantage of a Chicago turnover in the Wolves zone. Stars forward Fabian Brunnstrom blasted a one-timer off the turnover past Pasquale and into the Chicago net for his first goal of the year at 1:08, giving Texas a 4-3 lead. The unassisted goal proved to be the game-winning tally.



The Stars return home Saturday, October 30th to face the Houston Aeros at 7:00 pm. The Texas Stars will host the first ever “Pink in the Rink Night” at Cedar Park Center presented by Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. The first 2,500 fans will receive a pink aluminum water bottle. Texas Stars players will also wear pink in the rink themed jerseys to raise breast cancer awareness. The jerseys will be auctioned off with 50 percent of the proceeds donated to the Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Also, $2.00 of every individual and group ticket sold for the game will be donated to the Komen Austin Affiliate®. The State Farm Family Four pack is available for every Saturday home game at Cedar Park Center. Fans may purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for $52.00.
