Texas Travels to Grand Rapids on Sunday at 3:00 PM

Milwaukee, WI – The Texas Stars (16-9-1-1, 34 points) defeatedthe Milwaukee Admirals (14-8-2-4, 34 points) 3-2 in overtime in front of 4,477 fans on Saturday night at the Bradley Center. Texas center Travis Morin slipped in a rebound 17 seconds into overtime, giving the Stars a dramatic win on the road. Texas goalie Tyler Beskorowany (2-2-0) made 33 saves for his second straight win. Stars forward Sean Backman extended his points streak to five games with a goal, as Texas improved to 6-4-0-0 on the road this season. Forward Colton Sceviour also scored in the win, as Texas picked up its second straight win and the team’s third victory in the last four contests. Admirals goalie Chet Pickard (1-4-1) carried a shutout into the third period, but was unable to hold on for the win with 31 saves. Texas will play in Grand Rapids at 3:00 pm (CT) on Sunday afternoon.

Milwaukee scored the lone first-period goal just 2:06 into the game. Admirals winger Kelsey Wilson sent a cross-ice pass in the Texas zone to defenseman Grant Lewis, who scored his first goal of the year off a one-timer. Milwaukee outshot Texas 14-5 in the first period.

After a scoreless second period, the Stars clawed their way back into the game at 11:02 of the third period, tying the game 1-1. Texas right wing Colton Sceviour put in a rebound for his fourth goal of the year, scoring off a Raymond Sawada shot. Defenseman Brad Lukowich also picked up an assist on the play that spoiled Chet Pickard’s shutout bid. The Stars pushed in front 2-1 off a turnover in the Milwaukee zone. Right wing Sean Backman blasted a shot from the right-wing boards, beating Pickard at 13:25 for his fifth goal of the year and a 2-1 Texas lead. The unassisted goal extended Backman’s points scoring streak to five games. The Admirals countered to tie the game 2-2 with 3:58 left in the final frame off a deflected shot. Gabriel Bourque tipped a shot from the point, beating Beskorowany for his fourth goal of the year and sending the game into overtime knotted 2-2.

Texas made quick work in the extra session, finishing overtime just 17 seconds in. Travis Morin put in a rebound off a Brad Lukowich shot from the blueline, scoring his 11th goal of the year and giving Texas the 3-2 overtime win.

The Texas Stars play in Grand Rapids on Sunday afternoon to conclude a four-game road swing at 3:00 PM (CT). Texas returns home to take on the Manitoba Moose on Tuesday, December 14th at 7:30 pm.
