STARS FOUNDATION RAISES NEARLY $12,000 AT PINK IN THE RINK
Foundation Hosts Bowling On November 16th, Teddy Bear Toss on November 19th

Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars Foundation, in conjunction with the Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure ® and Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, announced on Friday that Pink in the Rink raised nearly $12,000 for the Komen Austin Affiliate ®.

The Texas Stars hosted their second ever Pink in the Rink night on Saturday, October 22nd at Cedar Park Center. In a game against the Peoria Rivermen, the Stars wore themed jerseys to promote breast cancer awareness. Local area survivors participated in game activities and the Stars hosted several fundraising activities with proceeds going to Komen Austin Affiliate®. The Texas Stars Foundation, with the assistance of Texas Stars player wives and girlfriends, sold autographed Pink in the Rink pucks and commemorative teddy bears. The Texas Stars donated $2 for each individual or group ticket sold. In all, $11,880.00 of the net funds raised were donated to the Komen Austin Affiliate®. The Texas Stars Foundation will present a check to the Komen Austin Affiliate® at a future Texas Stars home game.

The Texas Stars Foundation also announced the “Bowling with the Stars” fundraiser event for Wednesday, November 16th, at Mel’s Lone Star Lanes in Georgetown, TX. Fans may purchase tickets for $45 to the private event by contacting the Texas Stars Foundation at 512-GO-STARS or by email at foundation@texasstarshockey.com. At the event, fans will be able to mingle, meet and go bowling with Texas Stars players for charity. Bowling with the Stars runs from 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The players will wear specialty bowling shirts, which will be auctioned off near the end of the fundraiser.

The Texas Stars Foundation will host its annual Teddy Bear Toss for the home game on Saturday, November 19th, against the Houston Aeros at 7:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed animals to throw on the ice during the second intermission. The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to Operation Blue Santa. Those who participate in the Teddy Bear Toss will be entered to win gifts cards or team autographed memorabilia.

After a road game in San Antonio this Sunday, Texas will return home for Stars and Stripes Weekend on November 11th and 12th. The Military Appreciation themed weekend will feature specialty jerseys worn by Texas. The team will wear the red-white-blue colored jerseys for both games over the weekend. A silent auction will be held on the concourse of the Cedar Park Center for fans to purchase the game-worn jerseys. The silent auction will begin on Friday and end after the second intermission on Saturday, November 12th.

On Friday, November 11th, the Stars host Abbotsford at 7:00 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Texas Stars player magnet. Friday is also 3-2-1 night featuring $3 domestic drafts, $2 sodas and $1 hot dogs.

On Saturday, November 12th, the Stars host Abbotsford at 6:00 p.m. The first 2,500 fans through the gate receive a Stars and Stripes Hat, compliments of Sport Clips. Saturday is also a State Farm Family Four Pack night (4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas starting at $48).
