SELLOUT CROWD SEES TEXAS FALL TO CHICAGO 4-3 IN OVERTIME
Stars Start Five-Game Road Swing in San Antonio Sunday


Cedar Park, TX – The Texas Stars (11-2-2-2, 26 points) were defeated by the Chicago Wolves (7-7-0-1, 15 points) 4-3 in overtime on Saturday night in front of 6,863 fans at Cedar Park Center. Chicago winger Brett Sterling spoiled the Stars first sellout in team history, scoring the game-winning goal 27 seconds into overtime for the victory. Stars forwards Warren Peters, Francis Wathier and Greg Rallo each scored in the overtime defeat. Chicago goalie Drew MacIntyre made 29 saves in the win. Stars goalie Matt Climie suffered the overtime loss, stopping 29 Chicago shots. Texas remains unbeaten in regulation in the last ten games (7-0-2-1) and the Stars have only one loss in regulation in their last 16 games played. The Stars will travel to San Antonio Sunday, November 15th for a 3:00 pm faceoff with the Rampage.

In the first period, Chicago’s Jason Krog scored off a rebound at 7:08 of the opening frame to give Chicago a 1-0 lead. Krog’s second goal of the season was set up off a shot by Spencer Machacek that was deflected by Stars goalie Matt Climie.

Texas roared back in the second period with a pair of goals in 48 seconds to take a 2-1 lead. The Stars tied the game 1-1 just 2:44 into the middle period after Mathieu Beaudoin picked off the puck behind the Chicago net and centered to the Wolves crease. Warren Peters tapped in his third goal in as many nights and fourth of the season to tie the game. Less than a minute later, the Stars scored again, center Aaron Gagnon picked up his own rebound

In the third period, the Wolves tied the game 2-2 with a shot from the point by defenseman Chris Chelios. Forward Spencer Machacek deflected the puck in for his fourth goal of the year at 4:46. The Stars regained the lead at 7:38, taking a 3-2 off a power-play goal by Greg Rallo. Center Aaron Gagnon found Rallo on the right wing for his team leading ninth goal of the year. Rallo tucked the puck under the crossbar for the go-ahead goal. With the goaltender pulled, the Wolves tied the game 3-3 with 51 seconds remaining. Krog snapped a pass to the Texas crease, where Tim Stapleton redirected the pass for his eighth goal of the year at 19:10 and forcing overtime.

The Wolves Brett Sterling snapped a wrist shot past Matt Climie 27 seconds into overtime for his sixth goal of the season, giving Chicago a 4-3 overtime victory.

Texas will head out on a five-game road swing starting Sunday, November 15th at San Antonio and continues with two games at Rockford and one at Grand Rapids. Texas will host the Milwaukee Admirals on Wednesday, November, 25th at 7:30 and then again on Friday, November, 27th at 7:30 pm. Cedar Park Center will host College Discount Night and will provide $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs with the presentation of a college ID for both games. On Friday, the first 2,000 fans will receive a Texas Stars t-shirt.
