Second Annual ‘Bowling with the Stars’ Supports Texas Stars Foundation
Stars Sell Out Second Annual Event; Raise Over $17,000

CEDAR PARK, TX – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today their second annual ‘Bowling with the Stars’ raised over $17,000 to benefit the Texas Stars Foundation.

Held on Monday evening at Mel’s Lone Star Lanes in Georgetown, the annual Foundation event was an enormous success with fans and players alike. Each registered team of fans was paired with a Texas player, coach or training staff member and all 28 teams competed for the coveted Stars Bowling Pin. “117 Goons” teamed with rookie right wing Alex Chiasson on Lane 18 took the top spot in the team competition by rolling a combined score of 901. After two hours of fierce, but friendly, competition the players’ personalized retro bowling shirts were auctioned off with the proceeds benefitting the Foundation. Additionally all the participants enjoyed the Build-A-Burger Bar buffet and several attendance prizes were drawn, including college football tickets and a guided tour of Cowboys Stadium.

“We were thrilled with the full house we had for Bowling with the Stars last night,” said Texas Stars president and Texas Stars Foundation chairman of the board Rick McLaughlin. “We had a great turnout and once again our fans have been very generous in donating to the Foundation, helping to aid the many local charities the Foundation supports in Central Texas.”

Texas continues its four-game home stand on Wednesday, November 21st as they host the Oklahoma City Barons at 7:30 p.m. for another Winning Wednesday and H-E-B Night at Cedar Park Center.
