Sceviour Pushes Stars Past Rampage 4-3 In OT
Texas Takes on San Antonio on Saturday, March 10th at 7:00 P.M.

Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars (27-28-2-2, 58 points) defeated the San Antonio Rampage (32-23-3-1, 68 points) 4-3 in overtime in front of 4,893 fans at the Cedar Park Center on Friday. Stars’ right wing Colton Sceviour scored the game-winning goal with 1:24 remaining in overtime. Left wing Mike Hedden had a goal and an assist, helping the Stars improve to 13-3-2-0 over the last 18 home games. Left wing Matt Fraser and defenseman Dan Spang also scored for the Stars. Texas goalie Andrew Raycroft (9-9-1) stopped 25 of 28 shots as the Stars pick up their fifth win over San Antonio this season. Three Rampage skaters had multi-point nights. Center James Wright and forward Greg Rallo each put up a goal and an assist. Defenseman Sean Sullivan registered two assists for San Antonio. Rampage goalie Jacob Markstrom (9-9-0) stopped 32 of 36 shots in the loss. Texas takes on San Antonio on Saturday, March 10th at 7:00 p.m. at Cedar Park Center.

The Rampage started the scoring early in the first period. Forward Greg Rallo tapped the puck to the back of the net at 2:17. Center James Wright and defenseman Roman Derlyuk each added an assist on the 1-0 lead.

Texas responded at 2:37 of the second period, tying the game 1-1. Defenseman Dan Spang delivered a slapshot past Markstrom, notching his third goal of the year. Spang’s third goal of the year went unassisted. San Antonio grabbed a 2-1 edge with a goal from right wing Bill Thomas. Thomas’ 19th goal of the season received help from defenseman Sean Sullivan at 7:25. The Stars quickly tied the game 2-2 as left wing Mike Hedden snapped a shot at 8:05. The second Texas goal of the night was set up by defenseman Brad Lukowich. The Rampage jumped out in front, 3-2 with a goal from center James Wright. Forward Greg Rallo and defenseman Sean Sullivan each registered an assist at 5:18 of the second.

The Stars tied the game 3-3 with 7:08 remaining in the third period. Left wing Matt Fraser scored from the right circle, netting his 27th goal of the year. Left wing Mike Hedden and center Travis Morin set up the play, forcing overtime.

Texas sealed a 4-3 final with a goal from right wing Colton Sceviour. Sceviour’s 16th tally of the year was set up by defenseman Drew Schiestel with 1:24 left in overtime.

The Stars will host Military Appreciation Weekend, presented by United Heritage Credit Union. To honor troops over the weekend, Texas will be wearing camouflage jerseys that fans may bid on during a silent auction on the concourse for charity. On Saturday, March 10th, the two teams will meet again at 7:00 p.m. at Cedar Park Center. The first 3,000 fans to the game will receive a Texas Stars camouflage hat, presented by United Heritage Credit Union. Also, fans may purchase the State Farm Family Four Pack, composed of four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas starting at $48. Texas remains home to face off against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Tuesday, March 13th at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday is an HEB Night, fans may bring any HEB brand non-perishable food item to the box office and receive $5 off their ticket price.
