NEAR CAPACITY CROWD SEES MILWAUKEE SHUT DOWN TEXAS FOR 2-0 WIN
Texas Returns to Cedar Park Center on Wednesday, December 9th


Cedar Park, TX – The Texas Stars (15-5-2-2, 34 points) were defeated by the Milwaukee Admirals (10-6-1-3, 24 points) on Friday night in front of 6,422 fans at Cedar Park Center. Milwaukee rookie goalie Chet Pickard (5-1-2) made 31 saves for his first professional shutout. Texas goalie Matt Climie (5-3-4) stopped 31 Admirals shots in the defeat. Admirals forward Hugh Jessiman broke a scoreless tie with 2:13 to go in the second period, giving Milwaukee the eventual game-winning goal. The Texas Stars will travel to Milwaukee on Friday, December 4th at 7:00 pm.

After a scoreless first period, Milwaukee claimed a 1-0 lead late in the second period. Forward Hugh Jessiman stickhandled his way deep into the Texas zone and worked a backhand shot past Texas goalie Matt Climie for the 1-0 Admirals lead. Jessiman scored his fourth goal of the season with 2:13 left in the second period.

In the third period, Milwaukee forward Wacey Rabbit scored his second goal of the year at 7:17. Admirals’ winger Chris Mueller set up Rabbit near the Texas crease for 2-0 score.

After a three-game road trip, the Stars will begin a four-game home stand on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:30 pm against the Peoria Rivermen. Cedar Park Center will provide $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs for the game against Peoria. Texas will host Rockford on Friday, December 11th at 7:30 pm, and then again on Saturday, December 12th at 7:00 pm. Friday, Cedar Park Center will host Hockey Puck Night and provide $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs. The first 3,000 fans to arrive will receive an inaugural season hockey puck. On Saturday night, State Farm will provide its Family 4-Pack which includes four tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 soft drinks for $44.00. The first 2,000 fans to arrive at Cedar Park Center will receive a Texas Stars winter hat.

Tickets for any of the Stars 40 regular season home games at Cedar Park Center are on sale, starting as low as $9.00 a seat. Individual game tickets may be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000, by going online at www.ticketmaster.com or by visiting any local Ticketmaster outlet.
