KRAHN AND TEXAS SHUTOUT SAN ANTONIO 2-0
Stars Continue Five-Game Road Swing in Rockford on Wednesday



San Antonio, TX – The Texas Stars (12-2-2-2, 28 points) defeated the San Antonio Rampage (6-8-2-1, 15 points) 2-0 on Sunday in front of 3,536 fans at the AT&T Center. Stars goalie Brent Krahn (8-1-0-0) stopped a season-high 44 shots for his second consecutive shutout and his eighth straight win. Center Warren Peters scored with 1:19 left in the second period for the eventual game-winning goal. Forward Sergei Korostin added an empty-net goal as Texas remains unbeaten in regulation in the last 11 games (8-0-2-1) and the Stars have only one loss in regulation in their last 17 games played. Texas now has the highest point total in the AHL with 28 points. San Antonio goalie Al Montoya suffered the loss, stopping 20 of 21 Texas shots. San Antonio is now winless in its’ last nine games (0-7-1-1). The Stars will travel to Rockford for a 7:05 PM game on Wednesday with the Ice Hogs.

After a scoreless first period and nearly a scoreless second period, the Stars scored the game’s first goal with 1:19 left in the middle frame. Defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy ripped a shot from the point, with San Antonio goalie Al Montoya making the save. The rebound rolled behind Montoya and Stars center Warren Peters poked the puck into the net for his fifth goal of the season and a 1-0 Texas lead. The power-play goal was Peters’ fourth goal in as many games.

With the goalie pulled late in the third period, Texas added the final goal of the night. Right wing Sergei Korostin scored his eighth goal of the season with an empty-net tally at 19:11 for the 2-0 score.

Texas continues a five-game road swing Wednesday, November 18th at Rockford. Texas will return home to host the Milwaukee Admirals on Wednesday, November, 25th at 7:30 and then again on Friday, November, 27th at 7:30 pm. Cedar Park Center will host College Discount Night, providing $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs. Fans who present a college ID will receive a discount for either game. On Friday, the first 2,000 fans will receive a Texas Stars t-shirt.
