HOUSTON BEATS TEXAS 4-2
Stars travel to Oklahoma City on Friday at 7:05 PM

Houston, TX – The Texas Stars (6-4-0-0, 12 points) were defeated by the Houston Aeros (4-5-1-0, 11 points) 4-2 on Sunday night in front of 3,353 fans at the Toyota Center. Houston goalie Anton Khudobin (2-3-0) stopped 34 of 36 Texas shots to secure his second straight win. Aeros forward Carson McMillan scored 6:00 into the third period, breaking a 2-2 tie and pushing Houston in front for the remainder of the game. Texas goalie Richard Bachman (2-2-0) made 24 saves in the team’s first road loss this year. Stars forwards Mathieu Tousignant and Francis Wathier both scored in the defeat. Former Stars center Warren Peters scored once and added an assist on the game-winning goal for Houston. The Stars travel to Oklahoma City on Friday to face the Barons at 7:05 pm.



Houston tallied the only goal of the first period, striking 5:03 into the opening frame. Aeros defenseman Kris Fredheim fired a wrist shot from the right point. The puck bounced off a Stars defender and off the cross bar before landing in the Texas net for a 1-0 Houston lead.



In the second period, the Aeros added to their lead seconds after a five-on-three power-play expired. Former Texas Stars center Warren Peters put in a rebound for his first goal of the season at 11:37, giving Houston a 2-0 lead. The Stars cut the Aeros lead in half at 15:20, left wing Francis Wathier found a rebound in the Houston crease and scored his third goal of the season. Stars forwards Greg Rallo and Travis Morin each picked up an assist on the play.



In the third period, Stars center Mathieu Tousignant scored his second goal of the year just 2:16 into the period, tying the game 2-2. Ondrej Roman and Colton Sceviour assisted on the goal. Houston moved back in front at the 6:00 mark as Carson McMillan finished off a two-on-one for his second goal of the season and a 3-2 lead. The Aeros added the final goal of the night at 9:51, pushing their lead to 4-2. Defenseman Nate Prosser sent a shot from the point, through traffic and into the Texas net for his second goal of the year.



Texas will play in Oklahoma City on Friday, November 5th at 7:05 pm. Texas returns home to face the Toronto Marlies on Saturday, November 6th at 7:00 pm. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Texas Stars insulated lunch bag compliments of H-E-B. Also, the State farm Family Four Pack is available for every Saturday home game at Cedar Park Center.
