FRANCIS WATHIER ADDED TO AHL ALL-STAR TEAM
Texas travels to Oklahoma City on Friday, Hosts Abbotsford on Saturday at 7:00 PM

Cedar Park, TX – The Texas Stars, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced on Thursday that left wing Francis Wathier has been added to the 2011 Western Conference All-Star Team. Wathier will replace Texas center Travis Morin who is unavailable for the game. The 2011 AHL All-Star game is at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 31 with the Eastern Conference meeting the Western Conference in Hershey, PA at the Giant Center.

Wathier, a 6-4, 230-pound forward from St. Isidore, Ontario, has appeared in one game this season for Dallas on Jan. 21 against Calgary. Wathier, 26, has played in 42 games for Texas this season and recorded 22 points (12g, 10a). In 2009-10, he recorded a career-high 40 points (19g, 21a) and 101 penalty minutes in 76 games with Texas. Selected by Dallas in the sixth round (185th overall) at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Wathier made his NHL debut last season with Dallas, appearing in five games and recording five penalty minutes.


Texas travels to Oklahoma City to take on the Barons this Friday, January 28th at 6:05 PM. The Stars host the Abbotsford Heat on Saturday, January 29th at 7:00 PM. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Texas Stars player card set. Also, fans may purchase the State Farm Family Four Pack for the game, which includes four hot dogs, four sodas and four tickets for $44.
