DALLAS RECALLS RAY SAWADA FROM TEXAS
Texas Stars Resumes Schedule on Friday at Lake Erie

Cedar Park, TX – The Dallas Stars announced on Sunday that the NHL club has activated defenseman Nicklas Grossman from injured reserve. The team also announced that right wing Ray Sawada has been recalled from the Texas Stars, Dallas primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Sawada, 24, has appeared in 30 games for Texas this season, scoring two goals and five assists for seven points with 39 penalty minutes. He was Dallas' second round selection (52nd overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Sawada appeared in five NHL games last season, including scoring a goal in his league debut on Feb. 19, 2009 vs. Edmonton on his 24th birthday.

Grossman, 24, was placed on injured reserve with a lower body injury on January 9. He suffered the injury on January 6 at the New York Rangers. Grossman has appeared in 41 games for Dallas this season, scoring four assists with a +5 rating. The Stockholm, Sweden native is in his third season in the NHL, having played all 192 games with the Stars. He was Dallas' second round selection (56th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic will feature Stars defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy, competing in the 2010 Ducks Unlimited AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Monday, January 18 (8:00 p.m. ET) and the 2010 AHL All-Star Game on Tuesday, January 19 (6:00 p.m. ET). Fox Sports Southwest will be broadcasting both the All-Star Skills Competition and the All-Star Game.

Texas will travel to Cleveland for back-to-back games against the Lake Erie Monsters on Friday, Jan. 22 at 6:30 PM and then again on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 12:00 PM. The next home game will be on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 PM against the Milwaukee Admirals. All games can be heard on the Stars flagship station ESPNAustin 104.9 FM “The Horn” or ESPNAustin 1530-AM.
