Texas Stars Sign Right Wing Bretton Cameron to PTO

CEDAR PARK, TX – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has recalled right wing Colton Sceviour.  Texas also announced that the team has signed right wing Bretton Cameron to a professional tryout contract, calling him up from the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL.

Sceviour, 23, returns to Dallas for the second time this year and is still looking to make his 2012-13 NHL debut. The Red Deer, Alberta, native played for Texas Friday night at San Antonio and tallied one assist in the Stars’ 2-1 overtime loss to the Rampage. Sceviour has 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists), which ties him for third on the team in scoring. He was Dallas' fourth-round selection (112th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Cameron, who turns 24 today, has appeared in 38 ECHL games for Greenville this season, scoring 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) and logging 80 penalty minutes. The Didsbury, Alberta, native made his AHL debut two years ago, during the 2010-11 season, playing two games with the Connecticut Whale and recording one assist.  Cameron is reunited with head coach Willie Desjardins after playing for the Stars’ bench boss with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League.  In 179 career WHL games, he notched 120 points (62 goals, 58 assists) and 261 penalty minutes.

The Texas Stars are home on Saturday, January 26th to square off with the San Antonio Rampage at 7:00 p.m. at Cedar Park Center. Saturday is Francis Wathier Mini Bobble Head Giveaway Night, presented by Cedar Park Jewelry. Pro-rated full and partial 2012-13 season seat packages are on sale now.
