Cedar Park, TX – The Dallas Stars announced Sunday that the NHL club has assigned left wing Francis Wathier to the Texas Stars - Dallas' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The Texas Stars also announced that goalie Richard Bachman has been recalled from Idaho (ECHL) and left wing Michael Neal has been assigned to Idaho. Goalie Chris Whitley has been released.

Wathier, 25, was recalled on Monday and appeared in all three games for Dallas on the week, going scoreless. He made his NHL debut earlier this season with Dallas and has dressed in five total games for the club in 2009-10, accruing five penalty minutes and four shots. He has spent the majority of this season with the Texas Stars, where he has played in 50 games, recording 23 points (11g, 12a) and 76 PIM. The 6-4, 208-pound left wing was Dallas’ sixth round selection (185th overall) at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Bachman played in two games for the Stars, recording a 2.01 GAA and a .929 save percentage.
The rookie netminder leaves Texas with a 1-1-0 record. The young goaltender was 14-5-3 in Idaho, posting a 2.31 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. The 22-year old was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round (#120 overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Bachman played the previous two seasons with Colorado College, posting a 39-20-11 record with a 2.24 goals against average and a .922 save percentage. In two NCAA seasons, he posted seven shutouts.

Neal did not play a game during his latest recall to Texas. He’s played in 42 games for Idaho this year, scoring four goals and adding nine assists for 13 points with the Steelheads. The 20-year old Neal played has played in four games for Texas this season, going scoreless with a -2 rating. Neal was drafted by Dallas in the fifth round (#149 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Whitby, ON native is the younger brother of current Dallas Stars forward James Neal.

Whitley was added prior to the Saturday’s game. Whitley returns to the CHL’s Allen Americans, where he posted a 25-7-2 record, a 2.67 GAA and a .914 save percentage.

Texas will begin a five-game road trip starting with a game against the Hamilton Bulldogs on Tuesday, February 16th at 6:30 PM. The Stars travel to Syracuse on Wednesday, February 17th for a game at 6:00 PM. The team returns home on Friday, February 26th at 7:30 PM to host the Houston Aeros in the State Farm Lone Star Faceoff.
