Stars Play in Chicago on Saturday at 7:00 PM

Milwaukee, WI – The Texas Stars (16-5-2-2, 36 points) defeated the Milwaukee Admirals (10-8-1-4, 25 points) 5-1 in front of 4,276 fans at the Bradley Center on Friday night. Right wing Mathieu Beaudoin recorded the first hat trick in Texas history, leading the Stars to a four-goal win at Milwaukee. Texas goalie Matt Climie (6-5-2) stopped 25 Milwaukee shots for the victory. Admirals’ goalie Chet Pickard (5-4-2) made 18 saves in the defeat. Forwards Colton Sceviour and Ray Sawada also scored, helping Texas improve to 8-3-1-1 on the road this year. The Stars will play at Allstate Arena in Chicago against the Wolves on Saturday night at 7:00 pm.

The Stars struck for two goals in a 1:16 span of the first period. Right wing Mathieu Beaudoin scored his second goal of the season just 6:02 into the opening frame. Beaudoin tipped a shot from the left-wing circle past Milwaukee goalie Chet Pickard for the 1-0 lead. Just over a minute later, the Stars would strike again for a 2-0 lead. Texas defenseman Brad Lukowich fired the puck to the net and forward Colton Sceviour tipped the shot in front for his fourth goal of the year at 7:18.

In the second period, Milwaukee cut into the Stars lead at 11:12, trimming the score to 2-1. Center Nick Spaling played the puck to the front of the net off a face-off, setting up Chris Mueller’s second goal of the year. Texas answered back at 14:18. Defensemen Maxime Fortunus and Matt Stephenson worked the puck to the high-slot for Beaudoin. The Texas winger ripped a slapshot past Milwaukee’s Chet Pickard for his third goal of the season, giving the Stars a 3-1 lead.

In the third period, Texas added to the lead at 3:24 as Ray Sawada banked the puck in off the pads of Pickard for his second goal of the year and a 4-1 Stars lead. Mathieu Beaudoin completed his hat trick at 12:49, as he helped Texas score with a five-on-three power play. Defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy snapped a pass to the backdoor for a wide-open Beaudoin, who completed the first hat trick in team history and a 5-1 Texas win.

After a three-game road trip, the Stars will begin a four-game home stand on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:30 pm against the Peoria Rivermen. Cedar Park Center will provide $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs for the game against Peoria. Texas will host Rockford on Friday, December 11th at 7:30 pm, and then again on Saturday, December 12th at 7:00 pm. Friday night, the first 3,000 fans to arrive will receive an inaugural season hockey puck and the Cedar Park Center will provide $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs. On Saturday night, State Farm will feature its Family 4-Pack which includes four tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 soft drinks for $44.00. The first 2,000 fans to arrive at Cedar Park Center will receive a Texas Stars winter hat.
